Q: Will the customer get a refund if the goods are damaged?

     Company will ask the prove that the goods have been damaged and will take responsibility for the goods.

Q: What will the company do if the services do not same as the customer's requirements?

     If the customer's wishes are not met, the person in charge will be charged for the items that are responsible for damage due to his own negligence.

Inventory Management and Warehousing of HTH Transport Sdn Bhd

Q: How HTH manage their inventory?

    HTH warehouse will usually get information from customers if they want to send goods or where to store them. The customer will give information about the goods that want to go out or come in. When the goods have arrived, HTH will do the staging or racking process. The shelves in the warehouse are very high. The going out and coming in of goods all depends on the customer because in this warehouse we only store goods, so we will follow the schedule of going in and out of the goods that the customer requests. If the customer asks for the item to come out tomorrow, the customer will place the order today. We will prepare all the necessary forms. The warehouse in Johor is not big if compared to the warehouse in Penang (HQ). We also use a Warehouse Management System (WMS). When we receive an order from a customer, we will enter all the information into this system. Most of the work in the warehouse depends on this system. The way we arrange the goods will also depend on the customer. Sometimes a row of shelves will be reserved for our regular customers.

Q: How the process of goods that being purchased ?

    HTH receive order from the customer, the customer gives the DO, the DO states the identity of item, HTH will issue the item based on the DO, HTH issues the DO equal to the customer's DO. HTH charges based on quotation.

Transportation of HTH Transport Sdn Bhd

Q: How HTH Transport SDN BHD transport their customer’s goods?

-          There is 2 ways of transportation services that provide by HTH Transport Sdn Bhd to move their customer goods is whether they use the trucks HTH itself, charges and fees will be applied as an act of services. However, if the customer requested to use their own delivery trucks, HTH will store the goods and wait for the customer’s delivery trucks to collect them.

Q: If customer wants to use HTH transport services, how do HTH handle the movement of goods?

-          HTH Transport Sdn Bhd have their own scheduled delivery trucks that operates daily. If needed, some of the goods could be deliver via HTH delivery trucks itself if the seller request on using their delivery truck service, then HTH will deliver the goods. But if there are not sufficient space then they will keep the goods in their warehouse or they will load the remaining goods into other available trucks. 

Q:  What types of modes of transportation that available in HTH Transport Sdn Bhd?

-          HTH Transport Sdn Bhd provides 2 modes of transportation which is road transport and sea transport. Hence, this increases the range of their services where not only you could request to send goods via land, HTH could also provide transportation for those who need to send items or goods in large amount by sea.

      Q: What types of shipping container that HTH use?

-          HTH have every type of container this include 20 footer container, 40 footer container and a large pickup truck that have a container. The 20 footer trucks and the 40 footer truck are the common choices among the customers and the large pickup truck are usually for heavy duty. In addition, HTH received all types of goods to deliver to their customers. 

Information Technology of HTH Transport Sdn Bhd

Q : How IT help HTH in providing better management or better control of the product itself?

     Mostly by using systems. We use TMS which is Transport Management System. So, from that any shipment or movement of vehicles we will know.

Q : In your opinion, what will happen to HTH if no IT in HTH?

    HTH will not be the HTH now. IT is very helpful and one of the elements that make HTH become successful as now.

Q : Examples of technology used?

    Mostly systems. In warehouse, there are some handling equipment used such as forklifts. Forklifts is used to lifting and moving goods in the warehouse. There is also conveyer in our warehouse.

Q : Equipment breakdown?

    If the equipment breakdown, we will use manpower to complete the tasks.

Q : In your opinion, what are the advantages and disadvantages of technology?

    Normally, IT may ease our work in communicating especially. As we all know, phones, email and fax are somehow helps us in our daily life. We use IT to communicate with another department as well. The disadvantage of using It is when we always rely on the Internet. If there are internet problems, our work may be interrupted. We also have invest our money on the server to implement all those systems in HTH.
