 Strategies & Planning

Strategy and planning is a process in which the organization’s leader decide their vision and then identify the goals and objective of the organization. The term strategy and planning is essentially synonymous with strategic management. Before settling on a plan of action and then determining how to strategically implement it, the organization’s leader may consider many possible options. The development and execution of strategy and planning are typically viewed as consisting of being performed in three critical steps which are strategy formulation, strategy implementation and strategy evaluation.

Inventory Management & Warehousing 

What is Warehouse Management?

Warehouse management involves controlling stock storage and picking and packing tasks in the warehouse. This exercise uses demand flow data to place best-selling items near the packing area to speed up shipping and determine which items to use to fill orders, such as items with the closest expiration date.

What is Inventory Management?

Inventory management is the method of ordering, forecasting, receiving and distributing stock. Purchasing managers will use seasonal and historical sales trends to forecast demand. Inventory includes parts, raw materials, and finished products.

What Are Inventory Management and Warehouse Management Similar to?

Warehouse management and inventory management are similar disciplines, as both help in moving inventory from suppliers to end users effectively and efficiently. Each involves storage, delivery and restocking. They share the following characteristics:

-Both provide visibility into all stock, whether for a single warehouse or the entire company.

-Both use radio frequency identification (RFID), software, and barcode tools to improve accuracy and efficiency

Purchasing & Order Processing

A critical element of order fulfillment, order processing is the workflow that ensures customer orders are properly prepared and delivered to the right place. Depending on the scale of a business's operations, order processing can happen in a distribution center or warehouse where pickers, sorters and packers work in sync toward order fulfillment, or it can be done by a single person or small group.

Transportation

Transportation services are the movement of goods and services which includes transporting people, animal and other items or goods from one place to another either using road, rail, air, sea, cable, space or even pipeline. Transportation services are divided by 3 which is in terms of infrastructure, vehicles and operations. The method of transportation is very important when planning a shipment process. The cost, time, value of goods, size, weight and the urgency of the goods must be delivered to the end user must be taken to consideration.

Information Technology

Information technology or known as IT is the use of hardware, software, services and supporting infrastructures to manage and deliver information using voice, data, and video. For example, we can communicate with each other by using message, email, or fax without using our energy to talk to that particular person. In simplest way, IT is a medium we use to communicate with another person that are far from us
